【5th Grade Rice Harvest】
On a sunny day in November, the 5th grade students finally carried out the rice harvest. The rice, sown back in June, had grown rapidly over the months. Despite a long and hot summer, the rice ears had become strong and full. The students were taught how to use a sickle, and then everyone began harvesting the rice together!

“When the leaves were straight, the sickle cut through them easily. When the leaves were jagged, I had to move the sickle several times before they finally cut. I’m tired, but I’m looking forward to enjoying the delicious rice.”

[Presentation Rehearsal]
After next week’s Imoni (potato stew) event, the fifth period class will hold the Future Design presentation. Fifth to ninth-grade students will give slide presentations in the Book Plaza, and there will be exhibitions on the second floor. They will wrap up everything they learned, including the outcomes from Yume Fest!

“They said, ‘My mouth is dry from being nervous,’ but they presented calmly. They reflected afterward, saying things like, ‘Maybe I should read a little more slowly’ and ‘Perhaps I should practice reading a bit more.’”

The exhibition team each took a microphone and shared a few words about their enthusiasm and determination.

They also practiced for the opening ceremony of the Imoni Festival. They thought about how to offer hospitality to the local community and rehearsed accordingly. The Imoni Festival executive committee will handle the hosting, including the opening and closing remarks. Look forward to the event!
