As the air becomes dry and we begin using more heaters, the risk of fire increases.
This is a time when we must all stay alert!
Under the guidance of the Tomioka Fire Department, the children made a firm promise:
“We will never play with fire when adults are not around.”
As members of the Young Firefighters, the children participated in a parade to raise fire-prevention awareness among local residents.

The children walked slowly through the Ogawara Disaster Public Housing Area, covering about 600 meters, while striking “hyoshigi” (wooden clappers) to call attention to fire safety.

Families and community members along the route warmly cheered them on.
The goal is Linkru Okuma. Waiting for the children at the goal was Futaba-chan, the local mascot character.

A closing ceremony was held there, where the children listened attentively to the speeches and received a commemorative picture book.

Let’s work together to keep Okuma town free from fires ☆彡
