A guest instructor was invited to lead a drama workshop in our 4C class.

Each grade participated in activities with themes such as “trying out lines,” “creating a story for a role you want to play,” and “becoming a director.”

After forming groups, students discussed ideas, asking,

“What kind of story should we make?”

They created short plays with only a few lines and expressed themselves freely.

Using cards, students also thought about their strengths and weaknesses, learning that weaknesses can be seen as strengths when viewed from a different perspective.

Students formed teams of three, choosing one director and two actors.

The student in the director role received advice from the instructor about directing and thought carefully about each character.

Once the direction was decided, the director shared it with the actors and listened to their ideas as well.

As a result, the same short script was transformed into different performances, depending on the direction.

The instructor praised the students, saying:

“You are truly creating drama. You may not realize it because you are working only with each other, but I hope you can continue doing many more activities together.”

“I want many people to see today’s performances. Each viewer will feel something different.”

Students’ Reflections

  • “I’m glad I was able to say my lines.”
  • “Everyone’s performances were interesting. It was my first time creating something on my own, and it was a great experience.”
  • “I tried something I don’t usually do. I worked hard to memorize my lines.”
  • “It was fun to do drama again after a long time.”
  • “It was interesting to see how the same script can be expressed in different ways.”
  • “I was able to understand the emotions of my character and act them out.”
  • “I imagined the setting and thought about how to react and what words to say while acting.”
  • “As a director, I want to write an even more interesting story next time.”

The year is almost over.

There are many fun events to look forward to, such as Christmas and the New Year holidays.

There are only a few school days left in the second term.
