A soccer clinic was held on January 16.

It started with the question, “Do you remember the coaches’ names?”

One child immediately remembered and said, “Nabe-chan,” but the other couldn’t quite recall.

“Ah, Panda!!”
“No, that’s not it.”
“Hmm… Bear!!”
“Oh, close!”

Then someone called out, “Pooh!”

“Correct!” — and the session got off to a friendly, cheerful start ☆

On this day, the coach ended up being called “Panda” instead of “Pooh” right to the very end.

After that, the children put on colored pinnies and did warm-up exercises using colored cones.

The children moved to different colored cones, jumped, and got their bodies moving.
When the ball came, they stopped it with their foot and listened to instructions.
Balancing on one foot was wobbly, and sometimes the ball rolled away.

We then played matches between the Yellow Team and the Red Team.

First was a competition to put the ball in using their hands.
Next was a competition to kick the ball in.

When they kicked the ball, it went this way and that, and the children were completely chased around by the ball.
They got more exercise than usual.
Both rounds were won by the Red Team ☆

Finally, it was time for real matches.
First was a mixed match with the Nashi Group and the Ringo Group, followed by a match for the Momo Group.

The children rushed after the ball, all aiming for their own goal.
In both matches, the Yellow Team won.
Some children were so frustrated that they burst into tears, but we told them that this fighting spirit was wonderful and that we hoped they would use it as motivation for next time.
