Students in grades 6-8 went on a school trip. During their two-day trip to Tokyo, they watched a play and visited facilities related to their individual research projects on future design.
Although it was an early morning gathering, the children seemed full of energy. They greeted everyone by saying, “We want to learn many things by watching and observing plays,” before boarding the bus.

Our first stop is the Japan Olympic Museum. Italy hosted the Winter Olympics, where Japanese athletes performed exceptionally well. Not only can you learn about the history of the Olympics, but there are also guided tours led by athletes who have competed in the Games.

Lunch was katsu curry. It was delicious!

In the afternoon, it was finally time for group activities. This year’s group independent study took place at three locations: the University of Tokyo’s Hongo Campus, Ueno Zoo, and the National Museum of Nature and Science. Despite the unfortunate weather, everyone was able to have a meaningful time.
Here are some photos of each student’s independent study session.

We met at Shinagawa Station, had dinner, and then headed to the hotel. It was a packed schedule from early in the morning. Even the more energetic children seemed a little tired.
