The heat suddenly disappeared, and we had a cool day.
We didn’t have any classes this afternoon due to the study trip earlier in the week. So, even though it was Friday, it was very quiet.

On Friday, during 5th period, it was time to “Level up”. The 3rd grade science lesson was about looking for signs of spring, and the goal was to make something using natural things, like sticks. They searched the internet, and learned how to make stars using sticks. They chose the best sticks they could find, and made the stars all by themselves.

They tied the sticks as instructed in the video, but when they lifted them, they were loose, and started to lose their shape. “What part should I push down?” they asked. “Where should I hold it?” asked a designer. They had to think more about how to tie it, and how tight.

When you push down on some corners, they pop out, but when you fix it, another side pops out. That’s so annoying! But the 3rd grade students said “Lets cut the yarn one more time.” and kept trying.

The 3rd grade designer made their own as well, and all three managed to finish at the same time. Even though they all made stars, their methods were different. One started on the corners, the other, from the centre. This tree star was made from combining skills from science, and art.
