“New students and transfer students! Welcome to Yumenomori!” The annual “welcome party” was held. It is part of the student council activities planned and run by students from 4th to 9th grade.

“Let’s think about what kind of event would be good! There are small children too.”
“I want to play hide-and-seek.” “How about walkie-talkie tag?”

Last year, we had fun playing hide-and-seek and other recreational activities. This year, some students said they wanted to play hide-and-seek too, and they had fun inside the school building.

Representative speech from students:
“To all the students and faculty who have enrolled or transferred in this school year, have you gotten used to life at Yumenomori? Yumenomori doesn’t have home rooms, so you can interact with students from different grades. And on Fridays, you can decide your own lessons. Let’s cooperate in many situations and have fun!”

Running around looking for the hiding children

“I thought he was really talented because he hid in places where no one could find him.” “I hid in the science lab and got found right away, but it was fun.”

“The next game is…”

Next, we moved to the arena and played our first game. “Tail Treasure Hunt” is a game where you search for treasure while protecting your tail. If you get too absorbed in searching for treasure, your tail will be taken away. The children ran around energetically looking for the treasure hidden in the traffic cones. Some children focused on catching their friends’ tails. Each treasure and tail was counted as one point, and one child who had 23 points was the winner.

Found a beanbag!

“The rules were difficult.”

“My tail was stolen.”

“I ran as fast as I could and ended up getting my tail back before getting the treasure.”

“I realized that running away is a great skill. I lost my tail, but I got it back.”

“It was fun, but the 15 minutes were too long and I got tired.”

Impressions presentation

“Thank you for holding such a heartwarming welcome party for us today. The kindness of our friends and teachers at Yumenomori has made me even more excited about life at this school. Although we didn’t score any points in the tail tag game, it was fun.”

We have big events coming up, such as the sports festival. Let’s work together and have fun!
