[Rice Farming – Paddy Fields Without Flooding]
As part of their Grade 5 social studies class, students experienced water-saving rice cultivation.
With guidance from Yuzuriha Engei, a local farming organization in Kōriyama City, they learned about agricultural methods that don’t require flooding the fields.
The students worked hard in the rice paddies, saying things like, “I can’t wait for the harvest!”
The rice is expected to be harvested around October.

[Cooking Rice with an Aluminum Can!? – Grade 5 & 6 Science]
In our “Exciting Science Class,” students used aluminum cans to cook rice—right in the home economics room!
“Rice with an aluminum can?” For many students, it was their first time trying something like this.
What made it even more interesting was that the cans had previously held drinks.
Surprisingly, the rice cooked in just a short amount of time.

[Preparing for the Futaba Meeting]
The 7th and 8th grade students are taking part in student council activities with other junior high schools from the Futaba district.
To prepare, they created personal profiles and introduced themselves during the first meeting.
They seemed a bit nervous and excited as they spoke with students from other schools for the first time.
The second and third meetings are also scheduled to take place.
