Students in grades 3 to 6 took part in the “Meet the World” program.
Until now, they had communicated online, but this time they were able to communicate face to face.
The students welcomed their guests at the Book Plaza with the greeting, “Welcome to Yumenomori,” and then guided them around the school in small groups.
While showing them around the school building, the students made a great effort to explain things using English words they already knew.
They communicated enthusiastically with guests who came from the United States and Sweden.

Students’ Reflections
- “Before, we only met on the screen, but this time we met in person and it was fun. I was nervous, but I hope we can have another opportunity like this.”
- “I was nervous because it had been a long time since I talked with people from another country, but it was fun to play dodgeball together. I was surprised that dodgeball rules in the U.S. are different from those in Japan.”
- “I was a little nervous. We guided them around the school, played American dodgeball, and did unicycle tag.”
- “It was my first time, so it felt fresh and exciting. I enjoyed the exchange.”
- “Because it was a face-to-face ‘Meet the World,’ guiding them around the school was challenging. But I’m glad we were able to communicate well.”

Mobile Library Visit – “Azuma-go”
A mobile library from the prefectural library visited our school.
There were many books that we do not usually have at school, and the children borrowed books that interested them.
The mobile library is scheduled to visit again next July.
