Our first step in “theatrical education,” one of the features of Manabiya Yumenomori, is that we hold drama classes. First, we watched a video of the Tokyo performance from Wednesday, March 26th. It has been about a month since the performance at Kokumin Kyosai Coop Hall “Space Zero.” Two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, were performed by children who had been practicing in Okuma Town and members who had been preparing and practicing in Tokyo. It was the first time for the children who were performing to see their own performance. And for many children, it was their first time seeing “Kioku no Mori.”

This book contains illustrations from a picture book workshop we did with artist “An Kanie”. The children’s story “Memory Forest” was given to the children of Yumenomori in April.

“I did my best that time. Looking back, there are some areas I could have improved on, like the speed of my lines. But I think I did my best.”

“I think we did better than in the November performance. I thought everyone else did well, too.”

“It was my first time seeing it and I was amazed at how authentic it was. The voices were loud and powerful and I thought it was amazing.”

“I had done a play at my previous school, but it was in English and only lasted about 10 minutes per class. I thought Yumenomori’s play was real.”

We hope to come together and overcome any journey that comes our way in school.

It was time for everyone to experience the deliciousness of drinking tea. We also enjoyed some light snacks during the practical training.

“We don’t drink this kind of tea at home.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve had sencha. It has a nostalgic taste. It reminds me of when my grandma used to make it for me.”

“Cold-brewed tea is different from hot water. It was easy to drink.”

“It’s less bitter than hot water. I think the aroma is better with hot water.”

The children have lots to look forward to over the holidays, including going out with their families and having meals with relatives. We hope they have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
