As part of career education, “The Beginning of Me” has started. We will deepen our understanding of our strengths and weaknesses, and think about what we can do to improve our strengths, and overcome our weaknesses. “Where do you want to be in a year?” It started with writing down their wishes.

We carried out self-analysis by highlighting the areas we were able to achieve, and the areas we wanted to work on. We thought about what we should do specifically to become the person we want to be.

【Physical Measurements】

Physical measurements, vision tests, and hearing tests were conducted. The children were able to experience their own growth, with comments such as, “I was told to gain more kilos!”, “If my eyesight is bad, I might be banned from playing games,” and “I wonder how many centimeters I’ve grown?”

[Children and Student Council]

At Yumenomori, there are no set activities such as committees or sections. The library team work independently, helping with borrowing and returning books at the counter and reading picture books to students. Some children are in charge of the animals, taking care of the quails every morning, but this is an independent activity.

With the idea in mind, “Let’s make Yumenomori a much more fun school,” and “Since it’s everyone’s school, let’s decide together,” each grade level first discussed what kind of school they wanted Yumenomori to be.

“We have a lot of bookshelves, so we need a library committee.” “We want a broadcasting committee! I want them to broadcast things like cleaning time.” “I want to start a student council! I want to run an election.” “It would be fun if we had time to interact with everyone.”

After each grade level had a discussion, they shared the ideas they came up with. With the number of students increasing this year, we have a strong feeling that a new Yumenomori will begin!
