At Yumenomori, there is one activity that brings all the students together every single day — lunchtime!
Although there are no official committees at this stage, lunch duties are rotated weekly. The lower grades are responsible for preparing lunch, while the upper grades handle cleanup. Over time, the details of each duty have gradually evolved.
First grade students take charge of leading the “Itadakimasu” greeting before the meal, while fifth and sixth grade students are responsible for organizing the nutritional display board in front of the lunchroom. Some older students even take it upon themselves to straighten the chairs before leaving the lunchroom after eating.

During the first semester, the older students on lunch duty reminded everyone at the end of lunch to “be mindful of time” and “clean up their dishes properly.” Even now, everyone continues to practice these good habits.

School lunches at Yumenomori are currently delivered from Namie Town. A new school lunch facility is being planned at the site of the former Ono Kindergarten in Okuma Town, with the goal of starting meal service in April 2027 (Reiwa 9). As the number of children continues to grow, we hope to make lunchtime an enjoyable experience for everyone.
