Exchange student has arrived from Bathurst City, Australia, for a stay of about three weeks. She seemed a bit nervous during the morning meeting, but she is gradually getting used to life as she spends time with the 7th grade students.

“She said with a smile, ‘I was surprised to see a banner with my name on it prepared for me in Japan.’ She is very curious about Japan, saying, ‘I like sushi and Japanese shops,’ and ‘I want to go to Disneyland.’ She is joining classes such as Japanese and Art alongside our students. She was also surprised by differences in school life: ‘I was surprised there’s no uniform. In Australia, we always have uniforms,’ and ‘It’s amazing that lunch is provided. In Australia, we have to bring our own.’”

【Expressing Through a Gesture Game – 4C】
In this 4C session, the theme was “expressing a topic using only movements.” Students were divided into groups of 3–4 to play a gesture game.

The themes included “Filming a Movie,” “Snowball Fight,” and “Karaoke Contest.” Each group discussed who would play which role, practiced their gestures, and then presented their performance.

They created their own movements and presented them, letting the audience guess the theme in a quiz format. It was a valuable experience that showed how effectively they could communicate without using lines or props.
