February is coming to an end, and it feels like it’s getting brighter fast. There is only about one month left in the short third semester. There are only about three weeks left until 9th grade graduate. The change in temperature is drastic, some days are cold and others feel “warm”, and we can really feel the arrival of spring.

In preparation for the 3.11 Memorial Gathering, we held moral education classes for each grade. They read educational materials related to the earthquake. The current 7th grade students were born in 2011. Most children have never experienced a major earthquake. Most of them said, “I heard about it from someone at home” or “I learned about it at school”.

The educational materials related to the earthquake disaster are all materials that touch on the warm support and kindness of people, and allow you to feel the power of the people working toward recovery. After learning from these materials, we gathered in the Book Plaza and folded cranes in preparation for the “3.11 Gathering.”

Some children are good at origami, and others are not. We helped each other fold cranes. These origami cranes convey the feelings of “We’ve had a lot of difficult times” and “Thank you for helping me.”

We put a lot of heart and soul into the origami cranes.

~The following quotes are from the moral education worksheets~

・Once again, I realized that the Great East Japan Earthquake is an event that should never be forgotten. I want to be of some help to others in any way I can.

・I want to become a person who can be kind to everyone.

・The good thing about Japanese people is their manners. I want to act calmly no matter what.

・Even though the accident is getting a lot of attention, I want to remember the kindness of the people behind it.
