Day 1
After Odaiba, we headed to Asakusa. We took a commerative photo in front of Kaminarimon.

For dinner, we had yakiniku, which we were super excited for. We grilled the delicious meat ourselves, which refreshed us, because we were very tired.

Day 2
We had breakfast in the hotels restaurant. We were worried that the fatigue from yesterday would bring our moods down, but luckily that wasn’t the case, and everyone was bright and happy.

We left the hotel after breakfast, and headed to the National Museum of Nature and Science. The museum was full of various exhibits. We looked around the exhibits, and took many pictures.

At the National Museum of Nature and Science, Mr. Makoto Manabe, the deputy director, supervised the “Dinosaur Expo 2023” exhibit, and showed us around the museum. He spoke about the excavation at Futaba Suzuki Ryu, which is related to Futaba-gun. Mr. Manabe has visited classes in Okuma’s schools many times before. He is the person who unearthed “Maip” in Argentina, and he also named a new species of carnivorous dinosaur in 2022.

At the end of the dinosaur exhibit, there is a skeleton of a “Dodo” on display, which was made extinct by humans. Mr. Manabe concludes with the following message:
“Since the Earth is a fossil, it writes it’s story in rocks. Many animals are endangered due to human activity, with the present era being considered the sixth mass extinction period. What we do will change the Earths story in the future. How can we protect its biodiversity? We all need to think about this.”
For us who are trying to write the story of Okuma Town, we think this was a very important message.
After the Science Museum, we went to Tokyo Tower. After lunch, we climbed up to the observatory. The height was astonishing, and the glass floor had everyone excited, all wanting to take turns standing on it.

Today, we are going to “level up” the activities from yesterday, to challenge the children. Roll call and group activities will be organised by the children. This will help train their reliability, and their ability to think for themselves.
[School Scene]
Today in 5th period, a fun party hosted by the 3rd grade students was held. They had a 3-question quiz, the questions involving specific teachers, they then asked all the teachers for the answers, with the right teachers giving them a sticker.

The quiz was about things that you don’t normally have a chance to know, without asking.
You had to ask to get the answers.
A fun Yumenomori activity full of opportunity to learn new things.
The two 3rd year students made all the preparations and operations, thank you for your hard work!
