今年も1・２年生ブロックでは生活科の学習が始まりました！
学校に入学したばかりの１年生は２年生のお兄さん・お姉さんに日々色々なことを教えてもらいながら、少しずつ学校に慣れていっている最中です。今年の生活科では、昨年に引き続き、それぞれの学年での学習も行いつつも、一緒に活動する時間をたくさん盛り込み、子どもたちの｢好き｣や｢なぜだろう｣の気持ちを存分に発揮できる、ワクワク・ドキドキできる生活科を目指して活動していきます☺
４月の生活科では皆で学校の周りを歩いて、たくさんの春を見つけました。
４月14日（火）には、「タネイモ植え」をしました。用務員の先生のお話をよく聞きながら、畑に空けた小さな穴へそっとタネイモを入れ土をかぶせ、メークインと男爵のタネイモを植えました。子どもたちは、これからの成長をとても楽しみにしている様子でした。これから水やりや草取りをしながら、ジャガイモの成長をみんなで見守っていきます。収穫して食べるのが今から楽しみです。
そして、昨年の1・２年生で昨年度末にスタートした、｢苺ハッピープロジェクト｣も引き続き行っています。みんなで分担して、毎日朝と帰りに苺の水やりを頑張っています。４月17日（金）には、苺の苗を提供してくださった方が学校にきてくださり、苗の成長に合わせて、鉢に藁を引く作業を２年生で行いました🍓
自分の｢好き｣を見つけ、没頭し、探究できる未来デザインの時間につながる、その土台をつくる生活科の時間。子どもたちの｢やってみたい！｣を大事に、１年間頑張っていきたいと思います。
【Daily Record】Start of Living Environment Studies for 1st and 2nd Grade students!
The Living Environment Studies (Seikatsuka) classes for the 1st and 2nd-grade block have begun again this year! 1st grade, who have just entered the school, are currently getting used to school life little by little while being taught various things every day by their older peers in the 2nd grade. For this year’s Living Environment Studies, while continuing the learning for each respective grade as we did last year, we aim to incorporate plenty of joint activity time. Our goal is to create activities that spark excitement and anticipation, allowing children to fully express their feelings of “what I like” and “I wonder why.”
In April’s Living Environment Studies, everyone walked around the neighborhood of the school and found many signs of spring.
On Tuesday, April 14, we held a “Seed Potato Planting” activity. Listening carefully to the school caretaker, the children gently placed seed potatoes into small holes dug in the field and covered them with soil, planting both May Queen and Danshaku varieties. The children seemed to be looking forward to their growth very much. From now on, we will all watch over the growth of the potatoes while watering and weeding them. We are already looking forward to harvesting and eating them.
Furthermore, we are continuing the “Strawberry Happy Project,” which was started at the end of the previous school year by last year’s 1st and 2nd grade students. Everyone shares the responsibility and works hard to water the strawberries every morning and evening. On Friday, April 17, the person who provided the strawberry seedlings visited our school, and 2nd grade worked together to lay straw in the pots to match the growth of the seedlings.
The Living Environment Studies class is a time to build the foundation that leads to the “Future Design” time, where students can find what they “like,” immerse themselves in it, and explore. Valuing the children’s desire to “give it a try!”, we want to do our best together for the year.
